Brattle Economists to Present at Rutgers Center for Research in Regulated Industries Annual Western Conference

A group of Brattle consultants will present at Rutgers Center for Research in Regulated Industries’ (CRRI) 30th Annual Western Conference, taking place June 28-30, 2017 in Monterey, CA.

The event will feature some of the latest developments in the network industries, and address deregulation, market structure, policy and regulatory issues, environmental policy, and demand response. The CRRI, located at Rutgers University, aims to further the study of regulation in economics, finance, and institutions.

Principals Armando Levy and Ahmad Faruqui, Associate Zhen Wang, and Research Analyst James Hall will participate during the session “Electric Forecasting” and will discuss “Estimating the Impact of DSM on Energy Sales Forecasts – A Survey of Utility Practices.”

Academic Advisor Timothy Brennan will present during the session “Distributed Energy Resources II” and will discuss “NARUC vs. NYPSC.”

Principals Robert Mudge and Michael Vilbert, and Associate Akarsh Sheilendranth will present during the session “Issues for FERC & State Commissions” and will discuss “An Examination of Plausible Drivers of Elevated Market to Book Ratios of Regulated Utilities.”

Dr. Faruqui, Principal Ryan Hledik, and Research Analyst Angela Gunn will participate during the session “Electric Rate Design” and will present on “Simulating the Impact of Demand Charges in the Absence of Empirical Data.”

Lastly, Dr. Faruqui, Senior Associate Neil Lessem, and Research Analyst Henna Trewn will present on “Promoting Energy Efficiency by Leasing High Efficiency Equipment” during the session “Electric Service Planning.”
